Kenyan doctors have been on strike since mid-March, crippling the healthcare system. Over 4,000 medics, led by the Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists and Dentists Union (KMPDU), are demanding better pay, improved working conditions, and the hiring of intern doctors - all as agreed upon in a 2017 contract. The government, citing financial constraints, has been unable to meet these demands, resulting in severe disruptions to healthcare services across the country.
